1. Course Introduction
The level 1 subject of chemical engineering and technology is one of the earliest established subjects and the most importantly constructed subject for long term in our school. It has formed a subject system which is featured in petroleum processing, basically organic chemistry and refined petrochemistry. The second level subject, chemical technology and applied chemistry, is the key subject of Jiangsu Province and the key subject of department respectively, the later has been awarded as the advantaged subject construction project of Jiangsu province in 2011. The Subject has one provincial laboratory and two provincial experimental teaching demonstration centers. There are 26 professors, 29 associated professors and 24 Doctors, the Doc. accounting for 38%. Proportion of teachers with senior professional titles under 45 years old has reached more than 63%.
The subject has been based on the research and development of downstream products of petrochemical industry for many years, which has made a variety of achievements and formed a significantly industrial characteristic, thus established it'sdomestic academic status. Subject's major has a clear and stable research direction currently and adequate research funding. The subject has been equipped with superconducting NMR spectrometer, electron microscope, X- ray diffraction, the full spectrum of direct reading plasma emission spectrometer and a number of modern analysis instruments. It also owns good engineering practice site conditions and establishes a close and good relationship of cooperation with many large and medium-sized petrochemical enterprises in China.
2. Training Goals
To meet the needs of socialist modernization, we aims to cultivate senior engineering technicians and managers that must have correct outlook on life, that are both physically and psychologically health, that must master the basic theory and principles of chemical engineering process and equipment, that must know both domestic and overseas research status and developing situation, that must have an independent research development ability and engineering design and project implementation capacity.

(5) Biomass industry conversion technology and application research

Professional Practice:
